All projects must develop and implement a construction and demolition waste management plan:
Provide a waste management plan and final report detailing all waste generated, including disposal and diversion rates for the project. Calculations can be by weight or volume but must be consistent throughout. Exclude excavated soil and land-clearing debris from calculations. Include materials destined for alternative daily cover (ADC) in the calculations as waste (not diversion). Any materials sent to a comingled recycling facility for processing must take the facility average recycling rate and must include any ADC as waste (not diversion).
Note: Include all diverted and not diverted waste in the calculation of the waste generated. Exclude hazardous materials and land-clearing debris from calculations. Calculations can be by weight or volume but must be consistent throughout.
Upload the documentation verifying the diversion rate of commingled waste. Include proof that the facility is regulated by a local or state governing authority. Include an average recycling rate for the facility during the time period that waste was sent to the facility for processing. Include an ADC percentage (if applicable) for the facility. If eligible, include proof of third-party recycling rate and facility certification through an approved program, such as Recycling Certification Institute.
Upload documentation demonstrating 50%+ diversion from landfill, ADC and incineration.
Briefly describe how recycling and reuse were used as diversion strategies prior to using waste-to-energy
Note: This pathway is for international projects only.
Upload documentation demonstrating 50%+ diversion from landfill and provide documentation that any waste-to-energy facility utilized follows the European Commission Waste Framework Directive 2008/98/EC and Waste Incineration Directive 2000/76/EC and meets the applicable European Committee for Standardization (CEN) EN 303 standards.
Note: Include all diverted and not diverted waste in the calculation of the waste generated. Exclude hazardous materials and land-clearing debris from calculations. Calculations can be by weight or volume but must be consistent throughout.
Note: Include all diverted and not diverted waste in the calculation of the waste generated. Exclude hazardous materials, land-clearing debris, and on-site reused materials from calculations. Calculations can be by weight or volume but must be consistent throughout.
Note: Must be consistent with Project Information.
Note: Must be 50%+ diversion of demolition waste and less than 10 lbs/sf (50 kg/sq. m) of construction waste for 2 points.less than 10 lbs./sq ft (50 kg/sq. m) for 1 point and less than 7.5 lbs./sq ft (37.5 kg/sq. m) for 2 points.
Describe how the project is addressing waste prevention and/or achieving the waste generation thresholds by on-site reuse and design and construction strategies.
Describe the circumstances limiting the project team's ability to provide the submittals required in this form. Be sure to reference what additional documentation has been provided, if any. Non-standard documentation will be considered upon its merits. (Optional)
Upload any additional documentation that supports the claim to special circumstances. (Optional)
